I believe games that have deep lore or story lines and great writing make for top tier games. Red Dead Redemption, God of War, The Last of Us. And then there's the really nostalgic games like Halo 3, Skyrim, Fallout 3, Black Ops and the original Modern Warfare series. Telltale's of the Walking Dead was an amazing storytelling game.

N64 Mariokart

Yes you can throw bananas.

Naw man Super Mario 64....though Mario Kart is a close second

These games are too modern for my tastes but still quality.

How about Super Mario Bros 1 & 3 and Kirby's Adventure?

Tbh I think with video games they peaked in the 90s and sort of suck today. People can downvote me all they want, but back then video games were designed to provide endless entertainment for the price of the console. Today most modern game are "pay to win" and have so many stupid add-ons and fees meant to squeeze every last drop of money out of the player.

I burned through controllers jamming on this game! The bar near my home now has an N64 and let’s people play for free. I’ve had to school some of these youngins on it. It’s also fun to blast the lightning on Mario Raceway just as they are about to go off the big jump.

Anything else but Hades does not belong on this list. Skyrim with heavy (like, melt-your-GPU-heavy!) mods for true connoisseurs, as well. Plus Witcher 3, but only with difficulty mods and all DLCs.

...and the Truth shall set you free

For me Morrowind and Doom Eternal are Bx, KKR, Viking, Pershing Square, and RenCap all bundled into one.

PJT RX tier would be Skyrim, Smash Bros Melee, and Yoshi's Island (Gameboy Advance).

Back office tier - Diablo Immortal, Animal Crossing

Super Smash Brothers Melee

All the Fallout series

Diablo 2 & 3

Half-Life

Another mention for Black OPs

Doom 2016 & Eternal

Final Fantasy 7 & 9

Civilization 4-6

X-Com and X-Com2

etc

Civ2 was better.

Smash was the best game for N64.

For story nothing beats FF7.

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.

I was thinking about this game a few days ago because the smart kids in school got to play the original if they done well on homework or whatever... needless to say I was the only one in the class that didnt get the chance to play it during the year. and that shit still hurts

Dude I totally remember playing this during computer hour in third grade. Computers were those blue boxy transparent macs. My favorite part was hunting. My party always had enough food.

In terms of actual prestige (I don’t enjoy these games the most), it’s the games where you can win serious money for being a top player. Counter Strike, dota, league of legends, overwatch etc. Being good at those games is a genuine skill - you don’t have to have a good “entertainment” personality like streamers who play COD.

In terms of what I enjoy the most - atmospheric single player shooters that are often referred to as “Immersive Sims”: Prey, Bioshock, Deus Ex, Dishonored, Metro 2033,  Fallout, resident evil, etc

not console-based, but really liked the Total War series

Fallout New Vegas has shaped my brain more than any other single piece of media (virtual or written) and I dont regret it

Hooray classic gaming!
