Wall Street Wants the White House
In a conference call last week Omega Advisors’ CEO Leon Cooperman told his investors how he was less than impressed with the country’s presidential candidates this year. His solution? Run for president himself.
It turns out that cooler heads prevailed (or at least ones with green on the mind) as Cooperman was dissuaded from running by his investors because they wanted him to manage their money. Cooperman insists that he was serious and went on to release his 9 Point Presidential Plan. What do you think monkeys, would he have actually had a shot at the white house with his 9 points?
When nobody knows who you are 2 years before the elections and everybody hates Wall Street 2 years before the election, jumping in from Wall Street as an unknown is pretty much asking to be laughed at.
Most of his points make sense. But Ron Paul is a truer conservative, and Huntsman is a truer moderate. Then there are Perry and Bachmann who are adored by the Tea party regardless of their actual accomplishments or intelligence, so it seems Cooperman has little to no chance.
That said, it'd be cool to have back-to-back Columbia presidents. :p
