West Point Grad/ Army Officer -> Corporate Finance

Hey all, as of February 2nd I have received an appointment to The United States Military Academy at West Point. I have had a passion for business/finance/investing since I was 14, but also want to serve my country. I’ll get to my question, I was wondering how well Army Officers/West Point Alumni are recruited into the corporate finance world and would getting an MBA in the army be beneficial when trying to translate into the civilian world. I know my officer commitment comes first but I wanted to get an idea of how these guys get jobs. Thank you for your time!

Don't get your MBA while you're in the service. Those are part time MBAs at crappy schools. Aim to go to a Full Time Top 10 MBA (it lasts 2 years) right after you get out of the service. Study for and ace your GMAT or GRE before you get out. While you're in the service, aim to establish a record of excellence with visible leadership potential and glowing recommendations for B school. When you get out, I think the 9/11 GI bill will cover tuition and may provide BAH as well. You also have two opportunities for internships. One before school starts and one during the next summer.
