When is too late for the earlys postgrad experience in NYC?

Turning 25 in a couple of months. Spent to past two years in a pretty middle tier city. Feel like I wasted my best years of that 'young' postgrad life. Been thinking of moving to NYC to chase out a little more excitement. But wondering if thats getting on the upper age to enjoy the nightlife to its fullest extent.

My friend just moved to nyc last summer at 34 in IR and has been partying for about 8 months straight.

It’s New York. You can go out and get into nightlife until you don’t feel like doing it anymore.

I actually don’t really see low to mid 20s out in Manhattan beyond dirty areas like East village too much. West village on weekends. It’s very expensive and it seems places like Bk/LIC/Queens/etc are blowing up because of that. The jobs that let you live the way you want in nyc tend to be for more senior folks.

Absolutely not. I mean it.

I am 24 now and had the same exact thoughts - I was just in NYC this past weekend with some college friends after ~2 years in IB in the West Coast. I honestly feel now (24-25) is a better time to move than when I was 22 out of college given your first job comes with longer hours and more stress (the first job adjustment) that will take away from the experience. Also you will likely be earning more and have more ability to delegate most likely in your second role. One of my friends joined from Chicago (he's 27) and had the time of his life, he also realized you can keep having a good time in NYC till much later.

It's truly a special place. My best friend / roommate and I are thinking about the move pretty seriously within the next few months now.

Yeah 25 is way too old. Facepalm

I understand the feeling because all of your friends move right after college and live it up

I lived in NYC with friends from college. Best years of my life.
