Why Banking HR works so bad?

I applied for the GS Off-Cycle 2023 in August 2022. I received some rejection emails in June this year. Today (end of November 2023) received another email (rejecting me obviously, something I knew since January/February) Why does HR in this banks works so bad and they are allow to continue doing their job? I do not care about the rejection, but can't they send a generic email to every non selected candidate as soon as they fill all spots? Please give me your experiences or opinions about this…

It’s not just banking HR, it is all HR.

Honestly, I agree with you. But banking/high finance HR prides itself of selecting the best candidates and of having the sharpest selection process. It looks to me, that they can’t even meet deadlines

The superior way is to have a contact within the firm to push through your application. So first you get the job and then have to deal with HR.

Because it's HR. No one ever accused the department of karens and kyles of being good at their jobs.
