Why do kids who grew up in America seem so dumb and immature compared to immigrant kids?

I have seen the behavior of both types of people, and it is without a doubt a noticeable pattern. Immigrant kids act so much more maturely and intelligently. Immigrant kids also are more prepared to handle tough situations at a young age, which makes them a lot more independent. Their independence serves them well.

This is such a subjective post that it honestly holds 0 merit.

I don't know how many people could easily flip this around on you and show you immigrant kids acting the complete opposite of what you are describing. To me it just seems like you're jealous of your American counterparts.

Where in the text does the OP talk about his or her background? I am a New Yorker, born and raised. My claim is a widely known fact. Many other people share my opinion.

“Jealous of your American counterparts.”

But what is there to be jealous about?

Why are you talking in third person when you are the OP?

"Many other people share my opinion" that's another subjective statement. "What is there to be jealous about?" Truthfully, I don't know, but the OP comes off as just shitting on American-born kids when we could say the same about immigrant kids.

"Booneboone"

But what is there to be jealous about?

I was recently in grad school with a lot of foreign students. Two things I noticed about them:

  1. They loved to talk about how their countries were the countries of the future, growth rates there were much higher than in the US, which was losing power globally, and how dynamic and exciting it all was.

  2. They did whatever they could possibly do to stay in the US after graduation.

I also had multiple conversations with foreign students who were able to stay and work but then complained that the companies they got jobs at were "too" white or American. Somehow I suspect that if I went to work in India and complained about that, they wouldn't exactly wring their hands at how mistreated I was.
