YOUR PURPOSE MUST COME BEFORE YOUR RELATIONSHIP
Every “man” (in terms of masculinity) knows that his highest purpose in life can’t be defeated by any particular relationship. If you prioritize your relationship over your highest purpose in life, you only weaken yourself, disserve yourself and cheat your Mrs. of your true authenticity, thus lessening her trust in you.
Your mission is your priority. Unless you know your mission and have aligned your life to it, your core will feel empty. Your presence in the world will be weakened, as will your presence with your intimate partner. The next time you notice yourself “giving in” to your woman, postponing your mission and denying your true purpose in order to spend time with her, stop. Tell your woman that you love her, but you cannot deny your heart’s purpose. Tell her that you will spend thirty minutes (or some specific time) with her in absolute attention and total presence, but then you must return to carry on your mission.
Your woman will be more fulfilled with thirty minutes a day of undivided attention and ravishing love than she will with a few hours of your weak and divided presence when your heart really isn’t into it. Time you spend with your woman should be time you really want to be with her more than anything else. If you’d rather be doing something else, she’ll feel it. Both of you will be dissatisfied.
What the fuck is this post. Is this about investment banking? Nobody on this forum has a "purpose" or "mission" that's worth neglecting their friends and loved ones.
Just balance your life, and don't delude yourself into thinking some corporate job is a "mission" or "purpose".

Purpose is whatever you wish to achieve mate by not allowing anything or anyone to detour your sense of direction; friends, family, God, Jesus, etc. It's clear your purpose doesn't reside in your career, perhaps its traveling to world, being a DJ, or becoming a NYT best-selling author. For me, its my career. I am solely focused on advancing my career, entirely committed to the prosperity of my team and the firm. Or as you would say, I am deluded.
This reads like the perspective of a 21 year old that doesn't have meaningful personal relationships yet. If you intend to maintain this outlook on life, please don't have children or expect to have a successful marriage.

Saving the world may be someone's purpose (cancer researchers) while spending time with family and loved ones can be another's purpose. Being genuine and authentic in your approach to life is the point I'm trying to get across. Staying true to yourself, not matter the adversity.

The problem with purpose is you might prevent relationships from getting in the way, but that won't stop nature, competitors, or haters from getting in your way, which you have much less control over. Someone just like Warren Buffett could've existed 100 years ago, and it wouldn't have mattered if the financial system wasn't in place to reward people the way Warren has been rewarded from our current one. If you block your relationships, it ends up being that you run out of time on both meaning in your life through purpose and through relationships, and you have a very unfulfilled life.
It's all about balance. The whole purpose thing for a man really can only be used within the context of understanding men's relationships with others. It's a little sexist theory that isn't without truth, but shouldn't be taken too far out of context.
