Based on the most helpful WSO content, there isn't specific information directly about the Apollo Climate team in the provided knowledge base. However, general insights about Apollo's culture, work-life balance (WLB), and compensation trends can be shared:

  1. Compensation: Apollo is known for offering some of the highest pay packages in the private equity industry. This is often to attract top talent, given the demanding nature of the work.

  2. Work-Life Balance: Apollo has a reputation for being a "sweatshop" with brutal hours, as highlighted in multiple threads. Associates often face long hours and high stress, with some reporting burnout within 2-3 years. While there have been efforts to soften the culture (e.g., revamped office spaces, diversity programs), many remain skeptical about significant changes.

  3. Team Culture: Apollo's culture is described as intense, with a focus on a maniacal work ethic and detailed analysis. While there are efforts to diversify and improve inclusivity, the overall environment is still seen as highly demanding and competitive.

If you're considering a role with the Apollo Climate team, it might be beneficial to network with current or former employees to get firsthand insights specific to that division.

It's without question the least competent and lowest quality group at Apollo, to the point the broader brand name doesn't carry over much. I would take a role at almost any solid LMM/MM fund over a job there unless climate is 100% where you want to spend your time (in which case there's still more funds that are better to choose from).

What are some of the better climate funds?

They all stink, just a scam to raise $ during the frothiest time in private markets history (2020-2021)...

Looks whats happening. Climate/impact bubble about to burst. The funny thing is that LP strategies have just been updated with specific allocation targets, so fundraisings still happening as LP understanding has a time lag.

At least this shitshow is in for a crude awakening in the new political climate.
