Blackstone Tactical Opportunities (BTO)
My friend (maths grad) has recently secured a job here (been working there a little over a year) and has told me about heaps of the interesting things they are doing (music rights for famous singers, equity control deal into a data center builder, funding the purchase of GPU chips to onsell for AI, along with a few random minority growth and structured equity deals into some cool businesses).
I have 2 years experience in IBD but have only really been practising LBOs for basic PE shops. He was hired as a first year from uni due to strong maths grades. I have an offcycle interview with them due to my friend - how would i practice for something like this?
Bro doesn’t even know the correct name of the team he’s interviewing for
haha sorry my bad!
Would recommend getting a strong level of fitness and focus on improving your stamina and endurance. I hear the Navy Seals training is pretty brutal
(edit: thread was originally “Tactical Operations”)
Is it harder than the technicals?
You got no chance if you need to post here. It is a highly elite and very hard group give then broad range of skills around investing you need. The case study will be an equity case study just like private equity, however likely more nuance around it and more technical/challenging. I would give up, try basic private equity in the mid-market and do some LBOs
