Firms that use Word Memos vs. PPT's for IC Memos

We do word memos. I didn’t know ppt was common.
Interesting… I know most of the larger mega funds all use decks but had not heard of many firms using word docs for memos.
For what it’s worth I am at a small fund run by old school VC guys.

Yeah but way less time spent formatting stuff / squeezing things in just to fit onto a specific slide. Pros and cons of both, but I prefer memos.
It allows you to disseminate critical thought and information in a much more thorough way. It’s an internal document, time is much better spent focusing on content rather than formatting, etc.
I've done both. Frankly prefer ppt as word memos tend to just be a bunch of writing on top of embedded ppt slides in the memo calling out what is important (which should be the main point of the title of the slide...). So all in all still had to do all the slides...just extra writing on top..
