Interviewed with a Upper MM buyout fund in East Coast USA last week Thursday. They mentioned the next round will be the following week (as in this week).
It’s already Wednesday, still no word from them. Should I follow up with HR?

Doesn't hurt at this point; did you send your thank you note post-interview? I would say if this silence followed a final round, you could still hold out hope, but if they said next round is this week and you still haven't heard back it's probably a strong sign that you're not moving on.
