Given the apparently stiff competition among BB/EB bankers with knowledge of second European languages for MF & MM places, I am curious to know if CFA might perhaps conceivably/possibly maybe offer even a slight or marginal competitive advantage as a tie breaker in the stiff competition under certain a few select circumstances

Be well ranked - that’s probably the most important thing and then don’t fuck up case studies/modeling tests/interviews. These are really the few things that you have control over.

Ability to use resources at your disposal is usually quite important (eg search functions on online forums where certain topics have been clubbed to death)
Sucking up to ppl and be acceptable in what you do (avoid typos, big mistakes in your analysis)

Sorry to ask but I don't understand how is it gonna help in the sense that HHs / funds won't ask your staffer / team about your ranking right? How could they know it?
They will cross reference with ex-members of your team.
You will never know a language as good as a native that’s how I see it, so upskill yourself other than by learning a language and no not the CFA

As a recruiting pan-EU MM senior team member: I will value the grit (have it myself) in the most junior profiles (e.g. analyst). Anything SA/VP up I don't give two shits, there is no edge. In my own discussions at various levels also did not experience an edge.
