Good time to reach out to HH for 2nd year’s?
Is right after 4th of July a good time to reach out to HH to make an intro? When is the best time for 2nd years that are looking to recruit to talk with HH?

Candidly, I haven’t gone through the recruiting process myself so I wouldn’t be of much help, hence the post. I will say that you will receive inbound interest from recruiters without even having to email depending on how large your shop is, but I haven’t gone through the process yet
Thats good to know. What were your thoughts on waiting until year two to recruit instead of on cycle year one?
Wanted to give my shop a shot as starting on the buyside is already huge and there’s no reason to move unless you’re dissatisfied / want to try something new. That’s something I learned at least. Personally, I’m looking to move to a shop that does more stressed / distressed PE which my firm doesn’t do so hence the desire to switch. If you like your shop, I’d try to stay as long as possible, a lot of benefits in rising the ranks at a growing fund
Yes that would be a good time to reach out, as you’ll want to get in touch / schedule meetings before the rush of meeting all the incoming first year IB analysts starts for the HHs
Brings up an interesting point - what IS going to happen to the on-cycle rush given no one is doing in person meetings and most funds aren’t coming back to the office until September
It seems that the on-cycle rush may still be early this year (and perhaps virtual) as some HHs have already started reaching out and connecting via LinkedIn.
Note - These reach outs/connections have been solely to gather information on group and contact info not to set up meetings
