Harrison Street-Real Estate PE

Does anyone have any insight on Harrison Street in Chicago? They seem like a solid REPE firm with 7.5 Bill AUM. I am looking into joining their Acquisitions team after graduation? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

My old firm looked at a few deals with them as a potential JV partner. They had a lot of capital they were trying to deploy last year, and I know they were raising an additional fund as well. From my interaction wih them, they seemed like a good group who looked at a lot of potential acquisitions. I'm sure you would get some good underwriting experience there as an analyst.

It seems they like to start off some of their younger employees as asset managers before giving them a shot at acquisitions. At least that is the path I have seem some of my connections go through there. Do you have experience in RE acquisitions? That might change things a bit.

With that being said, they raised a huge amount of capital last year and seem to be focusing on some niches (senior housing, student housing, etc.) that have proven to create strong returns. I'm sure there are other users on here that might be able to dive a little deeper for you. Sounds like a good opportunity at a reputable shop.
