Headshot/bio for new associates
Random question for current PE associates - how long after joining did you get your headshot taken / bio added for the firm website?

First shop took me about a month for the bio with no headshot, Headshot taken about a month after that, and then a month until the headshot was returned and added to the website.
Not on my firm's website - FWIW some of the MFs including CG / WP / BX / KKR (I'm sure others too) don't list your photos / bios at all.
I imagine this will take even longer now due to COVID (photo usually taken in office, bringing in a photography crew etc.).
My future fund has asked us to provide photos
This is completely firm dependent. It generally comes down to how busy the person is who is responsible for updating the website. I don’t recall how long my first photo took, but my second one took months as we had all of our photos professionally done at once. Mine probably also added at least a week of extra photoshop time to make it presentable... My third job I ended up using a photo taken on an iPhone for the first year or two, which was ironically better than the professional one we eventually took. My fourth gig the PE firm had a dedicated marketing department that asked me for my full website / press release info and a photo literally day one on the job.
So — it depends. But with COVID, don’t expect past precedent to really mean much of anything!
