How to backlever coinvest?
I work at a large institutional family office and we have the ability to coinvest on annual basis into private deals (growth equity, LBO coinvest). Firm does not provide leverage to employees.
Anyone have ideas on how I can backlever my coinvest? I have several 100k in PA with margin account. Thinking about using public margin to fund additional private coinvest.
Private loan. No other option if nothing through the firm
Agree with the other poster, you’ll need to take out a personal loan, line of credit or HELOC(if you own a house).
Not sure how margin in a brokerage account would work for this but I wouldn’t do that.
Ask your dad to loan you half the money
Worst part of First Republic going under...
I was about to say FRB has a product for this in my first comment. RIP
What product was this? Wondering if I can find at another bank
Assume you’re investing with no fees / no carry … is there some mechanism where you’d start having to pay carry / backpay fees on your coinvest if you leave the firm?
Nah, no fees no carry even if you depart
