Amazing firm. Know they were out in the market raising a $13B fund. Pretty formal - suit and tie type culture. Someone quoted 340k for first years but I don't know if that's actually the case (although I do know a guy who is going there next year). Great returns. I view them as disciplined value investors. They will often pay lower multiples for more under the radar industrial / manufacturing businesses (I wouldn't quite call them Apollo or HIG though - CD&R has a strong operational focus). We run into them every now in then in the healthcare services space. Heard it's rather sweaty - not surprising for a solid-performing large cap fund.

Associates usually come from top-tier banks (most NYC based associates are from GS/MS/JPM/EVR/LAZ). Strong pipeline to HBS. I'm sure the departing associates there have no trouble finding interviews at hedge funds / other PE firms.
