Macquarie Principal Investing

Interviewing with one of Macquarie’s PI teams and trying to get a sense for what the mandate / experience is like. The specific team sits within their Commodities and Global Markets (CGM) business line but was also checking out a role in MacCap / GIG. Does anyone have any views on how these teams work as I understand Macquarie has made a lot of organizational changes recently (e.g. rebranding MIRA to sit under Macquarie Asset Management).

Any broader thoughts on their in-house investment teams would be great, with respect to the specific markets they play in / quality of deal flow / comp

Did a deal with MacCap a few years ago. My understanding was that their capital was balance sheet. I only interacted with a couple guys there, one senior and one junior. The senior guy seemed like a typical MD type and the junior guy was a real model monkey who left about a year after the deal closed. IIRC he took a job at a fund.
