Mega funds with middle market groups?
Currently prepping for on cycle private equity. Going to middle market tech banking. I was wondering if any of the mega funds have specific pe associates that focus more in the middle market / umm. I have heard of some groups have specific middle market buyout funds even tho they are a mega fund. Does anyone know what large firms have these funds? A list of firms would be great to know!
Idk if any megafunds still do that. Carlyle did at one point but not sure how that turned out. I think KKR might still be raising one?
There are some UMM/MM funds that have downmarket strategies if that’s appealing to you. LGP, KPS, One Rock, Audax, Abry, Platinum, Incline all have smaller funds apart from their flagships.
KKR Ascendant closed on ~$2bn in 2023
Boom, there ya go.
Thoma Bravo + Vista do. Though just take the CFA and you can be one of us.
Just note that you can't recruit specifically for Vista's MM fund; PE Associates are staffed across funds. TB extends fund-specific offers, though.
