MM PE Intern vs BlackRock ACS, which offer to take?
Hello! I have an offer from a mid-sized PE firm in LA ( think $8B AUM) and an offer from BlackRock for Aladdin Client Services in NYC? Trying to decide which one to take - BR pays double to the PE firm for summer but I think full-time salaries are around the same. Two factors I am considering are - location and exits post the internship. Please advise:)
At the end of the day ACS is very sophisticated high touch tech support. Believe me take PE, BlackRock is extremely overrated (coming from someone who interned in a top group there PMG/FMA and switched to IB full time).
that makes sense, thank you! I think the role is glorified OPs which is probably why they're paying more to get me to stay.
Practically speaking though, what are the return offer rates? Would suck to go to MM PE --> no return and be cooked and have to start from scratch.
Thank you for weighing in! I can return to the PE firm ( history of hiring interns). I am more concerned that if it is in LA versus NYC I might not get the best experience. Also, thinking of applying to megafunds post this summer ( had final rounds with Oaktree, Blackstone etc) but did not get the internship.
26.8% chance of a return - i like my entire intern class wish we could all return
hey congrats on your offer— do you know what FT analyst comp looks like at your firm? I don’t have so much info on other analyst programs (I’m in one) and just wondering how other firms comp their analysts. The more info the better! (lmk if you want mine)

Take PE Internship and don't think twice about it
PE internship easy.
Hands down, PE. There is good amount of finance companies in LA. ACS at BLK is overrated.
Update : took the PE internship - thank you everyone. I start work tom!!
sorry to be super specific but is this LA company called the riverside company? I am planning to apply for their 2021 internship and wasn't sure there's not that much information on them but they seem pretty legit they're just not very in the media I was just googling around and never used this site seriously but if it is possible to Pm you?
sure send me a message.
Good decision, good luck!
