PE vs Banking recruiting

A question for all the monkeys.

Hi all! Long-time reader finally posting a question. I'm a sophomore at a target school (Brown, Columbia, etc). I currently have an offer that I'm deciding between and a question about the best paths forward.

My questions are as follows: Is it worth skipping right to PE and missing out on banking recruiting and the potential of getting BB and EB if it's for a middle market PE firm (3bn AUM)

Much thanks
