Recruiting IB FT with MF PC SA?
Title, incoming SA in MF PC and getting quite nervous with the recent DL headlines and been thinking about recruiting out for optionality FT. Chose this over some west coast BB/EB's because I wanted to be in NY so don't have many contacts in NYC IB. Been looking at linkedin and from what I can see PC SA have some presence in rx recruiting or other credit stuff but wondering if the FT recruiting process looks diff if I want to go to M&A or other groups less related to credit.
Can't speak from personal experience but I know some MF private credit internships who landed classic MS/GS IBD full-time in my days.
Full-time recruiting starts very early (I did the reverse of recruiting for PE analyst programs during GS IBD summer and there were events already happening before the half-way point of the summer internship). Do you still have contacts for the west coast IBD firms that you recruited at? Tell them your status for the summer, that you're interested in full-time but in NYC, and ask if they can introduce you to the recruiter for that process. Do this asap so you're ahead of the barrage of emails in the summer.
