GoBuyside emails are depressing...~25 coffee chats / events so far and I've been to 1. Got a late start, still meeting headhunters - only up from here
How have you guys been preparing for the process? The breadth of material plus the demands of the job are just insane... Trying to figure out the best way to tackle this with the very limited amount of time on our hands. Also what are you guys doing for references? Very difficult to list reputable senior references at this point since most of us are 1st years and just started a few months ago. Also I don't know about you guys, but it doesn't seem like a smart idea to talk to senior guys about trying to jump ship to PE and to get their approval to be a reference if / when they are called on. What are you guys doing about that as well? Thanks.
I've been keeping my references primarily to associates, although some group heads at my firm are relatively comfortable with recruiting and tend to help their analysts out. A bit of a case-by-case basis.

GA is still going, but otherwise, most MFs are done. Most of the upper MMs are nearing completion as well.
Any updates on the West Coast? I've heard lots of coffee chats/events/interviews in NY, but not as much info on the other side?
