That list has remnants of the pre-crisis '06/'07 fund raising bubble, and most of those "megafunds" have not done well. I think those rankings will change pretty significantly when they come out with this year's update.

I would be surprised if TPG was "still top of the class" this year.

Performance and fund raising are not that strongly intertwined. Fund's performance will start reflecting in the fund raising track record maybe 5 years from now

 

If GS principal Investment arm is THAT big, why dont people hear more about it in terms of being a megafund or buying up assets like we hear about the other megafunds?

or is this arm not just PE but also securities investing/lending as well?
