VP - Direct Investments at FO Next Steps?
Hi all - wanted to get some perspective. Currently a VP (2nd year VP) at $10-15B FO. We are sector focused and i invest out a pocket of capital that does PE like style investments. Equity tickets range from $25-200M, min. EBITDA of ~$25M, broad spectrum from minority to control. 80% US / 20% RoW (Mostly EU)
Feeling a little stuck - there is limited upward progression (inverted pyramid). Wanted to test the market - so was curious to see how VP recruiting works.
Obviously curious about the usual suspects (KKR, Blackstone, etc), more traditional funds and even other more sophisticated FOs.
Any thoughts / tips how to best go about it?
