What % should I get on cap table for sourcing a deal for startup / bootstrapped “PE fund”
I have a unique biz dev opportunity to help a couple people source and hopefully close deals.
Basically, will be able to work part time and call LMM brokers to source deals with an EBITDA range around $.5mm - $2mm so very lower middle market.
The partner said he would give me an equity stake in the business and put me on the cap table for any deal I source. What is fair %?

Feels like sourcing fee at that small tev range should be 3-5-%? Maybe high end of range since equity risk v cash. So 5% fee on tev?
Fee? Or ownership in the business?
