Columbia MSRED Admitted Students
I just got accepted to Columbia's MSRED program through the newly implemented early action scheme. I'm looking to meet some NYC-based people who will also be attending the program ahead of the May start. If there's enough interest, perhaps we could make a GC. Please let me know if you're interested - looking forward to meeting everyone.
Also, if you're planning to attend, what is your background? Curious to learn who will make up the cohort.
Based on the most helpful WSO content, Columbia's MSRED program has a diverse cohort, often including individuals from various professional backgrounds such as real estate, finance, architecture, and law. The program is known for its strong brand name, networking opportunities, and one-year structure, which attracts a mix of domestic and international students. However, some discussions highlight that Columbia's MSRED alumni network may not be as tightly integrated with the broader Columbia MBA or BS/BA alumni, and a significant portion of the international alumni base tends to return to their home countries, particularly in Asia.
If you're looking to connect with other admitted students, creating a group chat is a great idea to foster early networking and collaboration. It might also be helpful to reach out through LinkedIn or other professional platforms to find peers who are planning to attend.

I applied Jan 15th so still waiting on my decision. Could you please post your background?
Interested as well, looking to apply for 2027.
Curious to know their background aswell; in addition to yours if you don’t mind sharing!
I studied econ at a target Northeast college, worked for 2.5 years in RE credit originations (mostly agency but some CMBS and bridge) and as of the summer transitioned to a $1bn AUM REPE fund to an acquisitions role. My app was about wanting to round out my finance/quantitative profile with the development/construction/design aspects of real estate. Good luck!
Great stats, did you apply to anywhere else?
Hey there.
Congrats on being admitted; I was aswell, although I am not NYC based. I only applied to Columbia so I’ll be attending.
My background is in Architecture + Project Management & Engineering, around 5Y of expérience in 250M$+ capital projects.
Congrats! Are you international? Where from?
I was accepted in the regular round and would love to be part of a group chat!
I was accepted as well and would love to join the chat! Not currently east coast based but I am east coast raised
How much does that cost all in?

Why you choose Columbia over Berkeley ?
