Would I break etiquette?

Been part of a recruitment process since September and it has taken ages to get responses and updates. According to the hiring company I am an extremely strong candidate for the position, so wondering why its taking so long.

Would I be breaking the etiquette if I approached the hiring manager directly on Linkedin and asked about the process?

2 months really isn't a long process. It might feel like it to you but the job market isn't quite as on fire as it was a year ago and companies are both looking for new candidates, but watching dollars in case there is a deep recession.

I think it is fine to reach out to the hiring manager, but I would do it via e-mail. I'm going to assume you have it since you sent a follow-up note after the interview, right?

You are right. Its a brand new team as well so makes sense that they take it slowly and try and nail it on the first try.

And no, the process has been a bit of a mess. The people I've been in touch with are between me and the hiring manager and also located in two separate countries (the position is in a third country). I'll try to dig out the email from somewhere.

Then I would reach out to the people you've met/HR. I wouldn't reach out to a hiring manager until after you interview with them.

If you are doing something with a multi-country team, then I wouldn't expect anything to be fast.
