Trying to work out if no feedback after 24 hours means something?
Is it that my CV is perfect and there's nothing that can be done to improve it? Is it that my CV is so bad that people laugh and don't even try to give suggestions when they see it? Or is it that my thread title wasn't catchy enough?!
I would
Impressive skills & interests
Thanks a lot for the feedback, really appreciate it.
As for me thinking out loud:
Regarding the TMT analyst, you are right that it's not a full time job by any means and is more of an extracurricular. I originally had this as a bullet-point under my university but wanted to expand it a bit to mention some of the valuation techniques (DCF). I'll see if I can put this under a new section or even just renaming 'Work Experience' to 'Experience'?
With respect to both the Academic Scholar and the Mensa bullet points, I put these down as I thought it'd show I'm relatively smart and should be able to pick new things up quickly. I can see how the Mensa point could go against me (for the record I literally sat the test and don't attend any of the (anti-)social events) but just wondering why you'd remove the scholarship comment?
I'll reword the Strat intern's second bullet point now, can see that it doesn't really flow as well as I'd have liked.
As for the selected project experience section, I don't believe my colleagues would argue that these statements are exaggerated and I don't believe I'm stretching the truth either. In this role I had a great opportunity to step up to more challenging work on busy projects so for the time being I'm going to keep this as-is.
Finally for the IB work experience at the bottom; I always thought that 'work experience' literally meant work shadowing which is what took place here. WIll look into this and potentially find a nicer role description.
Once again thanks for taking the time to give feedback.
What are the semi-targets for the UK?
I'd say something along the lines of Bath, Bristol, Durham or Edinburgh.
With targets being something like LSE, Oxbridge, Warwick, UCL & Imperial.
Only glanced at it, but 35 points on the IB is in no way shape or form equivalent to even 3 A*s. Just get rid of the A level equivalent and UCAS points. Recruiters know what the IB is.
Ok thanks. I put that on after one interviewer had heard nothing about the IB and suggested I add the UCAS conversion (which I agree is a subjective comparison). I will remove the A-Level reference but am hesitant to leave no context, I'll leave the UCAS points on since it seems as though banks are using that to screen through applicants' higher education - do let me know if this is still a bad idea.
