How is University of Bristol?

As usual, looking to break into IB. Got an offer for Economics at Bristol. It's has a good rank and I believe it's a semi-target. Don't have any idea on its placements. Also, looking back, I wish I applied to Exeter because of their degree apprenticeship with JPM, but anyways, how is Bristol? (~ Will cost 35-40k pounds a year for 3 years if I choose to attend).

If you didn't apply to JPMs apprenticeship then it has no bearing on the quality of Exeter as an UG

right, but Exeter does give such an opportunity and I'm just sad I didn't apply to Exeter in the first place, let alone applying for JPM after getting in.

Bristol has better placement than Exeter so you’re not missing anything.

Also, JPMs DA at Exeter has no effect on normal Exeter students. For the DA you apply to JPM not Exeter, the DA application is a completely separate thing to uni applications.

Solid semi-target and Bristol is a nice city to live in. Their Finance society is actually a lot better than one would think, the interns / grads I met from Bristol were always very social and good at the job. For what it's worth, the best MD i worked under went to Bristol so you won't be at any disadvantage applying from there.

Do you have any idea on its placements? I don't want to graduate with a 30k salary, after spending 120k+?

Placement is great. Look on LinkedIn, alumni are in pretty much every big IB/PE firm, in big numbers. Placement is not an issue at Bristol, the onus will be on you to do well as opposed to the university brand holding you back which it won’t

UK salaries suck and have been essentially flat for over a decade + alot of grads from these unis go into the Big4, civil service, entry-level roles within industry etc so for every econ grad that goes into IB, MBB + T2, IM theres 15 or so that are on 28-33k grad schemes/roles
