I'm a CFA charterholder that's been working at a European Multi Family Office for almost 4 years. I have a 168Q 168V GRE, and wondering whether I should pick LBS MiF, Cambridge MFin, or apply next year to an MBA. My goal is to work in London AM/HF.
Based on the most helpful WSO content, here's what you need to consider:
LBS MiF vs. Cambridge MFin:
LBS MiF: Known for its strong reputation in London and excellent placement in finance roles, particularly in AM and HF. It has a robust alumni network and career services that can help you transition into your desired roles in London.
Cambridge MFin: Offers a smaller cohort size and the prestigious Cambridge brand, which can provide a credibility boost. However, its career services and employment reports are less transparent compared to LBS.
MBA Option:
If you aim to pivot into a broader leadership role or explore industries beyond AM/HF, an MBA might be a better fit. However, MBAs typically require more work experience (5+ years is common), so applying next year could align better with your profile.
Keep in mind that top MBA programs also have strong placement in finance, but they may not be as specialized as the MiF programs.
Your Profile:
As a CFA charterholder with 4 years of experience, you already have a strong technical foundation. A post-experience MiF (like LBS or Cambridge) could complement your background and provide targeted opportunities in AM/HF.
Your GRE scores (168Q, 168V) are excellent and competitive for both MiF and MBA programs.
Recommendation:
If your primary goal is to work in London AM/HF, the LBS MiF is likely the best choice due to its strong placement record, network, and focus on finance. However, if you're open to waiting and considering broader career options, applying to an MBA next year could also be a viable path.

4 years is a bit of an awkward middle.
Mfin is cheaper, more common so I'd go for that. Pick one of the core London targets and you're set
