Transferring from T20 Non-Target into Semi-Targets/Lower Targets
Hi everyone,
This is my first post here, so take it easy on me. I'm beginning college this year at a T20 non-target, west coast semi-target at best (you know which one), but am looking to transfer into different colleges that are similar or lower ranked that are considered very strong semi-targets to lower/mid targets. The school I am going to has no business school, so I will be a part of the economics department. Although overall admission rates are similar for freshmen at both my school and my intended transfer schools, I'm sure transfer rates into the business schools are pretty low (<10%).
My question is, what would you recommend I do to maximize my chances of being able to transfer schools? If all goes my way, I want to join the business clubs (extremely competitive, have strong placements) and grab an internship this year to boost my application. My high school stats were good enough to gain entrance into any top school, but I didn't have great extracurriculars/recommendations, so I fell short there. I'm hoping to keep the grades as high as they were in high school when I start college, and take part in impressive extracurriculars to make up for my shortcomings in high school.
I am East Asian male (Chinese) so I really doubt I will get much of a bonus from my race, very slight at the maximum. None of my family/connections work in finance so I have no easy way to get my foot in the door. Any advice you'd give to a person in my shoes?

Fingers crossed that one of those helps you.
If you are talking about usc/UCLA/Berkeley you’re an idiot, respectfully.
