What's 987654321 / 123456789?

If you drove a car 50 mph from the surface to the earth to the moon in a straight line, how long would it take you to get there?

If you evenly split a deck of cards, what are the odds of all the aces being in one half?

I heard it was all behavorial, guess not...

Expect mostly fit/market related questions with a sprinkling of probability and/or brain teaser/math type questions.

No, recruiting doesn't really start until later in January for all OCR I know of

There is no standard answer to "what are bank X's interviews like". Other than a very small handful of banks that have the reputation of having very technical interviews, it is TOTALLY going to depend on your interviewer. Some just want to sit across from you and shoot the shit, while others will want to grill you the entire 30 min with brainteasers and technical questions.

When I see a question like this, I think the best advice that can be given is to prepare for everything. Behavioral, technical, brainteasers, etc. Get some guides, study them, read the WSJ, keep up on the markets , have a few stock picks in mind (and good reasons behind them).

The WORST thing you can do is get advice from some people who all say "oh it's all fit" and then you walk in expecting all fit, haven't prepared for the technical questions, and then get some first year analyst who thinks it will be fun to ask you questions like what is 7 cubed, or 7/16.

Prep for everything and be calm. A lot of times S&T interviewers try and push you to see how you will respond to stressful situations, so just don't lose your cool.

I did CS S&T SA interview for HK last month The first round consisted of 2 interviews from different interviewers. But the questions were basically the same for both.. all behavioral. ex) Describe a situation when you faced unfamiliar environment.

I interviewed for sales, so it was 80% "describe a situation when" question plus, 20% sales questions like "what do you have to do to maintain a good relationship with a customer?"

For CS S&T, I guess they divide you into sales, salestrading, or trading even before they conduct 1st round interview. So what you'll get will depend on which position. Probably the 987654321/123456789 question would be for trading.

shoot seriously? would it be okay to shoot HR an email and be like ... am I in sales, sales trading, etc? bc the questions are quite different, and I want to be prepared.

The interviews were primarily behavioral. It all depends on who's interviewing you, I had some guy who talked about himself the entire time. Second round is a bit more technical, just be familiar with the MARKETS!

"I wanna Thank the Good Lord for Making me a Capitalist"

Good luck, I met with 25 people over five rounds for two months and one person didnt like me...told me I was too much of an intellectual.  Found out through the grapevine that one opposing view means a rejection.  Make sure you impress everyone by being personable.  They know that you're not a finance wiz, they just want to see a good "fit."  Very little in terms of technical questions...maybe a stupid markets qestion here or there but nothing you need to review.  KNOW YOUR BEHAVIORAL QUESTIONS....huge aspect of the interview.
