Econ research to trading desk?

I am currently completing a 1y traineeship at a major central bank in finacial/macro research, and my background is in econ and econometrics (Master's level), with some solid quantitative knowledge. Previously I have also interned as a macro research analyst in a Big4.

Would you say the jump to some trading desks is potentially doable? What my profile is really missing is the typical finance background + sell-side internship, and my knowledge of financial products is not that deep (I've worked on Bloomberg and refinitiv, but I'm not good with trading strategies or advanced derivatives - although I can make up for that with some study). Plus, my quant and coding skills are good, but would not compare with those having PhDs in Math or CS.

Is my profile never going to be considered? Or can work for some trading positions (maybe FX/Fixed Income trading as there might be more macro analysis involved)?

Any advice is appreciated:)
