Resources to help you learn

For background, I am a junior trying to break into S&T. I honestly am just looking for solid recommendations of books, podcasts, or even newsletters that I can use to gain a stronger sense of the industry. This way, I can genuinely form more of my own opinions on topics so that I do not sound robotic during the interview process. Added context: it is not like I am not already reading the WSJ, Bloomberg, Financial Times, etc. I think I am just looking for more than an article, which is my primary source of information and knowledge. So if anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Newsletters:

  1. DealBook & Term Sheet - Essential for anyone in finance, not just technology.
  2. StrictlyVC - Focuses on venture capital but offers valuable insights into market trends.

S&T is incredibly broad, so its hard to recommend resources without knowing which particular area you're interested in.

I'm in rates, so I can recommend a few books below that I've found helpful (most of which have been published post-RFR transition):

Fixed Income Relative Value Analysis: A Practitioner's Guide to the Theory, Tools, and Trades (2nd ed.)

SOFR Futures and Options: A Practitioner's Guide (1st ed.)

Fixed Income Securities: Tools for Today’s Markets (4th ed.)

Random Walks in Fixed Income and Foreign Exchange: Unexpected Discoveries in Issuance, Investment and Hedging of Yield Curve Instruments (1st ed.)

Inflation-Linked Bonds and Derivatives: Investing, Hedging and Valuation Principles for Practitioners (1st ed.)

Sorry, I should have specified the specific area within S&T I am interested in, but it happens to be rates. Thank you so much for the recommendations. They are super helpful, and I will look into those books.
