Startup CFO from Cbanking?
Hi Everyone,
I wanted to ask for advice on my career path. I was spending some time tonight to write down some goals for myself for the next 10 years and wanted WSO to help me with the path.
I've been working as a corporate banking analyst for almost a year now (pretty much credit stuff). Most people get the promotion to associate after 2 years. I work in an industry specific group (healthcare/life science) at MM bank. (I'm from a nontarget and had a 3.1 gpa).
Because I'm based in a healthcare startup hub city I've got to work with a number of successful people in the healthcare industry and seen first hand how this is impacting people.
My ultimate goal is to become a healthcare VC. Obviously a lot of networking and hard work is involved to get there but some foundations are better suited for that.
3-4 of Cbanking->2-3 of ???-> Startup CFO (with successful exit of course) -> VC
I know I need startup experience to move over to VC. But given my skillset (econ and biochem major), I was wondering what is the "safest" way to get into VC. Maybe it's something I never thought about? MBA? My grades are meh so I thought I might not be able to get into H/W/S. EC's are good.
also curious, bump
Startup -> Exit.
