Cut off to put GMAT score on resume for On-Cylce PE recruiting --- 720? 730?

Hello,

I'm wondering what the cut off is for putting your GMAT score on your resume during on-cycle pre-mba associate PE interviews.

Do you think 720 is too low to put it on? 730? Most PE wants to send kids to M7 and I think those scores are high enough to get into M7 especially with IB & PE background, but those scores aren't even above the average M7 GMAT scores so do you think it makes you look bad to the PE firm to put them on your resume?

I'm assuming 740 is totally great to put on.

Thanks for the advice!

I defer to those who have done PE Associate recruiting, but I would put it on there. If I don't see your GMAT score on your resume I assume it's below 700.

Be excellent to each other, and party on, dudes.

Hey thanks for the insight. I guess I just figured if I don't have a GMAT on there I can just say that I haven't taken it yet.

I'm trying to decide at what level I would cancel my score when I take the GMAT. 710 cancel for sure, 720 I'm unsure if I should cancel, 730 I'd keep.

It's becoming less common to do an MBA after Associate PE. That being said, depends on the PE and depends on the person. Honestly my personal opinion is that the MBA is a great experience as you get one chance to be a student again and re-think your career, expand your network beyond finance, travel a ton for two years while you're single, etc. Going direct sounds great when you're 26 but when you're 46 and all of this is long past, you may wish you had done the MBA experience.

Be excellent to each other, and party on, dudes.
