Do I count as people of color?

I want to apply to the Roark spring week event in May, but it says "most underrepresented groups— BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color), women, and first-generation college students."

I am half white, half Chinese, so I am pretty sure I don't count, but I want to make sure.

Applying when you clearly don't meet the qualifications reflects poorly on you... It's not like a lottery where you technically have a >0% chance of getting an offer if you apply lol. There's a human on the other end assessing the apps

Depends on your mix. Btw, if you have a "desirable" ethnicity, I would go for a Kamala Harris or Barack Obama and just put full the desirable one. Asians are at a big disadvantage and are as low or lower than whites on the diversity totem pole. Pretty sickening that race/sexuality has taken such an importance during recruiting, yet here we are.

Yeah it sucks because mixed people (I'm one) do have unique experiences in how they go through racial imposter syndrome which has been well documented (regardless of what mix you are). Sucks that we have to choose the one that puts us in a better situation and that mixed race as a whole (not by what the makeup is) can't be something that's valuable by companies as well as university admissions

For what it's worth, when I first started filling out college / job apps I used to put Pacific Islander instead of just Asian because I thought that was correct. I'm from Taiwan, so....technically an island in the Pacific. Think that might have helped me get into college...

I like the cut of your jib.

The correct term is "womxn" (pronounced wim-ex-in). I can't believe you didn't take the time to learn the language of diversity, equity and inclusivity - you must be a racist, transphobe, homophobe, fascist!! Until people start recognizing that all trans women are biological women, the patriarchy will control us all. (to continue just insert littany of _____phobe and ____ist to continue pointing out how "problematic" the world is

Honestly who fking cares. Just put that you are. Race is just a social construct anyway. I've seen dumbass classmates that are 90% white and 10% hispanic put that they are a URM and get into HYPSM and top jobs. Just do it
