Do I Still Count As An Employee?

I just got an offer, and am going through a paranoid phase. Last school year, I had a work study job. This school year, I was put on payroll again, and I still get timecards. The thing is, my new boss hasn’t given me any hours. Last semester, he told me he’d get in contact with me when they needed me.

However, he hasn’t contacted me. I thought maybe he would this semester because it’s typically busier now, but nope. When i applied to my SA positions, I put the dates on my resume as last school year – present because I thought I’d eventually work again. If I don’t work there again, should I be worrying over this? I’m not sure what to think because I still get timecards made for me and I’m still emailed as a student worker, but I haven’t worked any hours this school year.

Wait so you are worried that you SA employer will find out and then accuse of of lying about your employment dates?

Dude, just relax. I am a big-time worrier too, but you have a good excuse there and your boss even told you you were going to get hours. You are absolutely fine.

Do not notify HR of the issue, you will just be blowing this out of proportion if you do. They're people - they will understand why you legitimately put the dates on your resume like that (if they ever even ask). If you notify them, they will think this is a bigger issue than it really is.

your eternally screwed. hr is going to call your prof and ask him to go day-by-day and explain your work volume. every hour that is not accounted for decreases your odds of a full-time offer. thats why banks have HUGE hr groups
