Family office exit opps?

Currently working at a mid-sized family office at with a focus on direct private equity investing in the lower mid-market as well as a fair number of venture-stage deals. I'm mid-level in the firm, didn't start my career in IB, and wondering what my options are for the future.

What are realistic exit opportunities? Would a mid-market PE or growth equity funds be realistic targets?

Thanks
