Goldman Sachs Spring week Hirevue London

Hey everyone!

Could you please help out a friend and tell me what questions do you get with the Spring Week Hirevue interview at Goldman Sachs London?

There will be behavioural, motivational and competency questions. (20-30 minutes)

Thank you very much for your help guys! We already looked at all other threads, but nobody addresses the spring week...

Hey man,

although the questions below are for London IBD SA, they may very well be applicable for spring week applications as well (with few exceptions of course). Please note that these questions are from 3 different cycles:

1) You receive an e-mail from one of your professors which is not meant for you and which contains private information. Nonetheless, you decide to read the e-mail. What do you think? What would you do? How do you think the professor/ the intended recipient would see your actions/ response? 2) You get to know a new client from a different culture you have not been in touch before. How do you prepare? What do you do? How do you make sure it works? 3) Have you ever exceeded expectations on a task assigned to you? Who did you have to report to? Which challenges did you overcome and how? 4) Have you ever had to quickly make a decision under pressure? How did you prepare? Was it a good decision?

5) What are necessary skills for an investment banker? Based on your experiences, where did you show them/ how do you embody them?

These were some of the questions a friend of mine got in a later batch:

  1. Talk about a recent M&A deal you've been following.
  2. Talk about a time you were had to interact with people from a different culture. What did you do? How did they react? What was the outcome.
  3. Your working on a project your manager is not part of. But your manager asks you for some information on a deal that is still live and not announced. What do you do? What do you say to him?
  4. Talk about a project you did. What were the challenges? How did you overcome them? What was a result

Again, questions from a later batch of questions:

1) How would you try to find commonalities with people who are different from you/ originate from a different culture? Have there been any similar past experiences? 2) Why do companies engage in M&A/ Investment Banking Activities? 3) What would you do if you were member of a project group and one group member indicates that he/she would not have time to work on the project for personal reasons? 4) What would you do if fellow students of yours had unlawfully gained access to answers to an exam? 5) For what reasons did you choose your course of studies/major?

Make sure to think of some scenarios that show skills related to the questions above in advance. Also, practice speaking in front of your webcam and remember to maintain eye contact throughout the entire interview.

Good luck!

Hey Tremonia!

Which of these did you experience with Hirevue? So only these ones?

"1) You receive an e-mail from one of your professors which is not meant for you and which contains private information. Nonetheless, you decide to read the e-mail. What do you think? Or none of them above? #Thanks!!!
