List GPA on resume?
I'm an undergrad with a 3.1 GPA in a hard major. However, my GPA is a 3.5 if I exclude two semester during a direct family member terminal illness. I list my current GPA on my resume, but not sure I should include the 3.5 explanation or just wait to explain in an interview. Would prefer to explain in an interview but fear I have little chance at getting one if there is not some sort of explanation for my low GPA.
Also, there is little difference between major GPA and overall cumulative GPA.
Would be great to get some honest thoughts and I appreciate the help.
Maybe just say "Adjusted GPA" and if they ask what it means then you can explain it.
Non-GAAP GPA
Put 3.5 and then add a footnote.
Consider adding a GPA reconciliation as an appendix.
Bound to work if the interviewer has even the slightest sense of humor.
Community Adjusted GPA

Can you retake classes from the two semesters you did badly? I would put a higher GPA than 3.1 then retake as many classes from those two semesters as you can before background checks/transcripts are requested.
My school doesn't offer an ability to retake classes for a better grade, so those two semesters are pretty much set in stone.
I am currently looking for a FT IB role ranging from BB to MM.
My current gpa is 3.3 and have two investment banking internships.
Should I list this GPA on my resume or just leave it?
If you don't mind my asking, what major? I know for some like computer science/physics related 3.1 may not even be that bad and is equivalent to a 3.5+ in business major
For sure. It's a double in math and econ.
