Worse case scenario you'll find out by September 5th, which is when your application(s) will be pushed to regular decision. I'd give it around a month to know if you're in or not.
Anyone else with update yet on Early action? I know some got superdays but also heard those were diversity or rising junior. Would be interested in seeing if anyone non-diversity & rising sophomore got it...
Just finished a 3rd phone interview for the San Francisco Healthcare, was informed at the end of the call to expect another phone interview or a superday in the next few days. Anyone else in the same boat?
Update: I got a superday invite last night: heads up I believe I was considered in the pool for diversity recruiting, so if you haven't heard back yet don't stress it. Good luck guys!
No worries man, I expected as much given I didn't do any networking with them, whereas all the other BB's I applied to I heavily networked. I applied mid-July, but didn't hear back regarding a phone screen whatsoever. I think the combination of attending a non-core school and a GPA that wasn't a 4.0 rekt me.
It's just bizarre that I'm as far as I am with JPM which was ranked #1 for tech m&a, yet MS flat out denied me. like wtf lmao
Ah no worries, thanks though. Yeah I thought so too. I do know one of the junior analysts from high school and we didn't get along so maybe it's that.
Either way, I got a return offer from the boutique I'm at now so regardless, I'm landing somewhere next summer. I'm cautiously optimistic about other BB's (JPM and BAML).
Update: I got a superday invite last night: heads up I believe I was considered in the pool for diversity recruiting, so if you haven't heard back yet don't stress it. Good luck guys!
I emailed HR on the 14th and they said we would hear back by the 15th, but I still haven't heard anything. I don't want to be annoying and email them again but this is very strange. Does anyone have info from someone at the firm about what's going on?
(target, non diversity, had my first round 2 weeks ago)
Ya even I had my first round a week ago..havent heard anything but do they really take more than a week to tell you you got a superday? not optimistic...sensing i didnt make it to next round
HR isn't usually good about sending rejection emails- they usually send it much later, sometimes after the busiest weeks of recruiting (sometimes they don't even send anything). If you didn't move past this early round, you are automatically considered for the regular round- no need to reapply
First round interviews for Morgan Stanley (Originally Posted: 11/19/2017)
Hey guys, I applied for the IBD October 14th or so, but i havent heard back yet. How long does it take to hear back from them for the first interview. I live in Nigeria so my application was for EMEA
Had a first round with Morgan Stanley last Friday for non-core recruitment, but they said they were still in the process interviewing candidates. Do any of you have first rounds with them this week so I can gauge a timeline for when they'll get back to me ?
Yep, extremely fast answers.
I got first round a wednesday, they told me that they still have candidates for thursday and Friday, I got called Friday noon for AC.
Then after the AC they called 2-3 hours after the interviews (same day)
MS non-target first round (Originally Posted: 01/23/2013)
Just a quick question, I received 2-20 minute in person first round interviews for IBD SA in NYC, just curious as if this is typical at MS to have in person first round interviews vs phone. Also should I expect these two interviews to be all fit based? Thanks for the help
Not sure if it is typical or not at MS, but it is not uncommon, in general, for some top I-banks to have the first round in the office. In lieu of phoning you and asking you questions, some bankers (and correct me if Im wrong about a banker interviewing you or is it a HR rep?) will rather see you and ask you questions (will probably entail technical and fit if a banker is interviewing you) to get a real understanding of the first round of candidates and who should be dinged vs. who shall not.
it seems odd, but i feel like it could only be a good thing. Why would a bank invite you to their office if they weren't considering you? if anything, you should call to confirm
I talked to HR on the phone it is confirmed, just found that it was weird and it will be conducted by a banker not HR. I just read on here that others have had first rounds on the phone and not in person, but in the end clearly it can only be a good thing.
in person isn't uncommon. MS recruiters have been telling me that if i get selected my first round will be either over phone or in person at the office.

A little unclear about when 1st rounds for MS Non-target is. Website says due date is Feb. 1st for applications, but it seems that there have been plenty of superdays already. My school had a resume drop for MS and I spoke to the team so I figured I'd get a first round, but it seems like no one from my school has heard back...has the timeline passed? Should I email an analyst and/or MD?

I'd say by mid-August is a good time
Next two weeks
depends on what you applied to
Has anyone received updates?
There are superdays this upcoming week.
What kind of superdays?
Applied in mid-late July. Assuming I didn't get it since there are already superdays scheduled...
I think they are doing it by schools
same, applied but didn't hear back
Just finished a 3rd phone interview for the San Francisco Healthcare, was informed at the end of the call to expect another phone interview or a superday in the next few days. Anyone else in the same boat?
Anyone heard back this week after first round last week?
I had my first round last week after I was invited to apply to IBD that same weekend. Still haven't heard back. Any idea about when we will?
Update: I got a superday invite last night: heads up I believe I was considered in the pool for diversity recruiting, so if you haven't heard back yet don't stress it. Good luck guys!
Heard back today--denied. Good luck guys.
Sorry to hear, I am sure you'll find something else, keep your head up! Just out of curiosity, when did you do your first round/apply?
No worries man, I expected as much given I didn't do any networking with them, whereas all the other BB's I applied to I heavily networked. If you're denied from the resume screening for early action, aren't you just put into the regular process?
Denied?! sorry to hear that! I'm sure you'll find another company who will value your skills! I thought everyone moved into the regular round, no?
Ah no worries, thanks though. Yeah I thought so too. I do know one of the junior analysts from high school and we didn't get along so maybe it's that.
Either way, I got a return offer from the boutique I'm at now so regardless, I'm landing somewhere next summer. I'm cautiously optimistic about other BB's (JPM and BAML).
Has anyone heard anything about MSREI?
Not yet--granted, given that they're sending out rejections right now that might be a good thing.
had first round last week...any updates on super day?
They're started sending rejection email now??thats very early.. but I haven't heard a word from them so I'm nervous
Which office did you apply to?
.
I applied NY
So assuming no rejection was sent out, still in the running for accelerated or the regular process? Applied mid July
That would be my guess
I go to an Ivy non-target for MS, my status says "Application Under Review" Does that mean they haven't even looked at it yet?
Update: I got a superday invite last night: heads up I believe I was considered in the pool for diversity recruiting, so if you haven't heard back yet don't stress it. Good luck guys!
When did you interview? I interviewed last week and still nothing :/
I interviewed last week as well.
What year are you?
I'm a rising junior
Anyone know when the superday is for non-diversity?
There's one this Friday. Not sure about the size and stuff, just know someone going (Target)
which school?
Have any sophomores heard back?
I emailed HR on the 14th and they said we would hear back by the 15th, but I still haven't heard anything. I don't want to be annoying and email them again but this is very strange. Does anyone have info from someone at the firm about what's going on?

had a phone screen but haven't heard back. Do they let you know if you've been rejected from a phone screen?
Don't think anyone's been straight rejected yet. Either invited to superday or left in limbo
superdays are out now, i was told that if we havent heard back yet that means its a no :(
Are they sending out rejection emails if you don't get past your first round?
HR isn't usually good about sending rejection emails- they usually send it much later, sometimes after the busiest weeks of recruiting (sometimes they don't even send anything). If you didn't move past this early round, you are automatically considered for the regular round- no need to reapply
Any updates? It's crazy how it's been 3 weeks with absolutely no news
if you didn't receive news yet, consider yourself bumped to the regular round. The last early superday is this week
source? (i had a first round already 3 weeks ago)
Anyone knows what the deal is with the eternal "Under Review" Status?
Got the same email last week! No clue Maybe it's a hold?

MS is usually pretty fast with responses. My friend interviewed with them 2 weeks ago, heard back a day later for a superday this coming Friday.
