Had one that was 3 consecutive phone calls with MDs (1.5hrs total). Much easier than the in-person interviews IMO

echo on the easier than in person part
felt less nerves that's associated with going to the actual firm... for example I typically get the sweaty palms etc when I'm sitting in an interview room, across the table. Was more at ease while being in my own space - that being said don't let that fact prevent you from bringing your A game.

and also did it with no pants

Mine have been the same length/format as in-person superdays would have been. It seems like the firms are trying to make it as similar to in-office as possible.

In my experience, virtual makes it harder to connect with the interviewer, so you need to work harder to establish those connections and show your enthusiasm for the position. I also had notes laid out on the desk next to me lol, which I think is fine as long as you're still maintaining eye contact and not blatantly staring at a piece of paper.

To be honest I didn't really look at them, it was more having them there as moral support and something to fall back on haha. I jotted down some quick numbers on deals I was following/points on my resume, so a quick glance at those was fine I think since in normal conversations you wouldn't be making direct eye contact the entire time.

Please don't have notes and try to be sly, it's so painfully obvious. When you interview 15+ candidates the ones with suspicious body language stand out. Better to get something wrong and be able to walk through it than to be glancing down or staring at the wall.

Speaking of body language, stare into the camera and not at your reflection. Do all of your interview prep with your computer camera on so you're comfortable with it. Don't swivel around in the chair. Be prepared with a glass of water and your computer plugged in
