WetFeet Salary Data: Investment Banking

"Because of the tremendous decline in investment banking revenues over the past few years, bonuses have plummeted. Indeed, investment banks have cut bonuses by as much as 60 percent over the last several years.

* Undergraduates: $45,000 to $55,000 at bulge-bracket firms, plus an annual bonus contingent on market success; in the late 1990s boom, year-end bonuses for undergrads would usually fall between $10,000 and $20,000, but are much smaller these days"

Is WetFeet way off, or am i missing something here? I found this through a link from my university's career website.

that is WRONG.

DURING the late 90s boom, bonuses at the BBs were MUCH higher than 10-20k. that is a laughable figure. and nowadays, they're almost as high as they were during the boom.

and 45k base at a bulge bracket firm? nonsense.

The 2006 WetFeet Guide to Careers in Investment Banking lists $55,000 as average for FT undergrad hires plus $10K signing bonus. They say this is the result of surveys of the class of 2005. That was two classes ago.
