What is donald trump real net worth

''- A former Forbes reporter claims that Donald Trump, before he was president, pretended to be a Trump Organization executive speaking on Trump's behalf and then lied about his wealth in order to crack the Forbes 400 list.''

The general consensus is that it is a lot less than he claims it to be. He sued a current Bloomberg reporter for slander after the guy wrote a book about him claiming a net worth well under a billion, and lost, but the details are sealed. He also is not anywhere near the Vornados and CBREs in the NYC development scene. A lot of the projects he (and the Kushners) have been involved in are private and it is difficult to identify who has what stake. He also flirted with bankruptcy a couple decades ago, so it is tough to tell what if any of the old family wealth is still rattling around in the bank account. To be honest, I'd believe numbers anywhere from $10m to $1b as plausible.

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.

“The largest portion of Mr. Trump’s fortune, according to three people who had had direct knowledge of his holdings, apparently comes from his lucrative inheritance. These people estimated that Mr. Trump’s wealth, presuming that it is not encumbered by heavy debt, may amount to about $200 million to $300 million. That is an enviably large sum of money by most people’s standards but far short of the billionaires club.”

That's directly from the judge himself in the NJ lawsuit. Looks like he can only prove he has assets in the few hundred million. I'm going to assume his LTV is at least somewhat high, considering his affinity for leverage, so I would guess somewhere in the 100m-200m NW today after a little appreciation. Probably on the lower end. And about exactly what the company was worth when his dad died.

this is a dumb discussion but yea he's easily worth over a billion if you just add up mar-a-lago and a few other of the trophy assets lol

also steven roth of vornado is literally one of his biggest rivals but respected him and went to his inauguration........

Seems Forbes wouldn't over value Trump's net worth, if anything they would be undervaluing him given the political climate. What I will say is that Donald is not a savy investor/businessmen compared to the rest of the billionaires out there. Trump said in The Art of The Deal he doesn't crunch the numbers himself and he doesn't employ many people to crunch the numbers, frankly the fact he probably doesn't model his investments and developments is laughable. Trump inherited a lot of money and was close to bankruptcy throughout most the 90s. Politics as

Who cares. He’s richer than probably everyone on this site, has created brands and failed dramatically. He’s the elected president and lives life how he wants.

But let’s focus on Forbes, which writes crap articles and has no concrete way of calculating wealth. Trumps wealth fluctuates along with RE prices.

Also, this endless talk about his inheritance is just lame and sour grapes. He took his dads business into Manhattan, built or rehabbed some signature buildings and has a global presence. Sure, his dad helped him, but discounting all of his success is just a bitch move.

But alas, this site is full of lame little cunts.

Don't take my comments as trying to take anything away from him. To me he was savvy enough to convince everyone he is worth as much as he had claimed, and knew that having that image alone would open doors and opportunities for him. That strategy which paid huge dividends for him throughout his life. To me though, I find it hard to believe he would be worth $10 billion like he says, which is fine.

Wasn’t directed at you and agree, it’s doubtful he is worth that much. But it is also harder to figure out his worth than someone who has x amount of stock and you can look at the current price.

Either way you slice it, Trump is pretty wealthy and accomplished in a number of ways (real estate, golf courses, media, now politics).

And what is rich? He flys around on a private plane and chopper. Penthouse in prime Manhattan. Owns golf courses in NJ and Florida. Works for himself and says what he wants.

Sounds and looks rich to me. And he’s operated like this his whole life. So who cares.

Do you honestly see no difference between someone who inherits $300 million and thirty years later has $300 million, and someone who builds a fortune themselves? Or meaningfully builds on the fortune they inherit, even.

Yeah, Trump is still rich, but that's not success, it's failure. To act like that isn't relevant is absurd. And it is also completely reasonable discussion to have; Donald Trump ran for, and won, the Presidency in large part on the image of a successful businessman. Yes, there were other factors, but one of them was unquestionably the idea that he built and managed a business empire. I don't think it's right to nitpick how much of it was his doing, or anything like that, but you can't pretend like there aren't a bunch of voters out there who might have voted differently had they known that far from being a successful businessman, Donald Trump is less competent than your average small business owner. If John McCain had won in 2008 by running as a foreign policy expert, and backed it up with his military service as a qualification, and then it turned out he not only never served but was a draft dodger, that would be enormously important. And Trump has done the equivalent.

1) Who actually cares 2) Now that he is the President it is significantly more than he claimed before. To those idiots who think he is only worth $10MM he mad more than that a year off of the Apprentice, and he still produces the various spinoffs that came out of that show. Also the dude spent like $70MM on his own election campaign. That alone nullifies that retarded comment.
