search for "fired" in the general forum...I was sent there when I asked a similar question. It should answer your question. It is the first result

first round probably not, you just list your gpa...but if you lie it'll come back to bite you in the ass, and you'll kill your chances at working in the industry.

Dig deep into transcripts? They basically just pull up your "unofficial transcript" and check if it matches your official transcript from your school's registrar.

Recruiters have too many terrible resumes to sort through, so your bad GPA or lack or one on your resume will get you bonged for first round out of undergrad. Some banks request the transcript along with the resume. I wouldn't recommend even bending the truth when it comes to this stuff.

I heard that Lehman Brothers asks analysts to informally send them SAT scores. I won't be surprised if there are lots of candidates that manipulate this data as well. I wonder if people get caught doing this because one must sign some sort of release form for the SAT people to release scores right?

i never did that all that with lehman..i think they may just want you to list it somewhere unless they have changed it this past year

they cant. i dont think cb can send them. fuck sats. fuck lehman. that sucks that they want something you took junior year if high school. i can see GREs or GMATs, but SATs...fuck.

Man nobody looks at SAT scores besides undergraduate college admission, why would investment banks care? They wouldn't, you don't even put that on your resume.

if it's an impressive score, then why not put it on your resume? it's an objective, standardized metric that nobody can bullshit their way around (providing they check it). gpa's vary so greatly becuase of school and class selection.

SAT will vary in a few years since they changed the test a few years ago

so? the point still stands. everyone applying will have the same standards.

where are you getting this from?

several banks specifically ask for SAT scores

Yep. Most of the resumes in my resume book have SAT's, and they are looked at by not only my bank but also individual groups.

Like Alvar said, I don't know if and how they go about checking them, but they sure want to know what you got.

I also agree with Andrew, if you kill your interviews, have high GPA, etc etc etc, you will offset a very weak SAT

SATs are not IQ tests, they test your ability to take the test thats it. And if a company cares that much as to kill someone's chances based on a test they took 5 years ago...well then I dunno about you, but I don't want to work for a company like that.

What was the point of htis post? Quit whining. Lehman doesn't want you either.
