If by "main sa role" you mean asset mgmt in equities/FI then no - they recruit for those at target schools. this will be for other positions in the firm. Ops/Wealth mgmt/risk/corp fin etc etc.
This is in my experience going thru both processes - it could have changed in the past 2 years
I see. I thought some of those positions might be under "Investments & Trading", no? Did they finish recruiting for FO roles? PIMCO recruits at my school so wouldn't be surprised if Fido does as well
if you're east coast based my impression is they do OCR. both my FI and Equity SA interviews were done this way w/ an alumni. The hirevue process led me more to trade ops and wealth mgmt type roles - like i said it could be different this time.
They usually wrap up buy side analyst recruiting by year end.
wait so you did a hirevue and OCR? and what do you mean they "led you" to trade ops and WM? confused
usually AM roles were OCR vs. the hirevue which gets you to a recruiter who will lay out the roles available. They talk about your interests and try to get you interviews in the groups they have openings for (ops, WM, corp fin etc.)
Pretty sure AM roles are already filled.
This can be FO maybe? But it's in other areas of the business.
What were the hirevue questions?
I don't know, I'm planning on doing it later tonight. Did you get a Hirevue invite recently as well?
Yeah, I just got it.
I believe my friend said it's simple questions that basically "let you explain more of your resume". Basically if you wanted to talk about I think strengths or something for like a minute.
I think if you apply, you get the invite for HireVue. Pretty basic stuff.
Update on the hirevue questions?
I have done a similar interview before. It is mainly a sales role. It will get your feet wet if you lack experience, but a far cry from an analyst role.
Have you heard back yet? I also had the hirevue
Has anyone done a phone interview yet after doing the Hirevue?
Got an email tonight saying they’re interested in my candidacy but the recruitment process is taking longer than expected. Did you get that as well
I actually got a phone interview after the hirevue and they said the next step wouldn't occur until early 2018. Hope that helps!

anyone have an update on this process?
I have the phone interview next week. Does anyone know what might be the questions?
