Aladdin Portfolio Solutions Group (APSG)
Hi,
I originally interviewed on campus for BlackRock Portfolio Analytics Group (PAG). However, I received a call back three weeks later asking me to interview with Aladdin Portfolio Solutions Group. For one, I have no idea what the job entails. Two, I cannot tell whether this is a great opportunity or if I got shafted but they still want to keep me around.
All I know about the company is what is on the BlackRock career site, it is based in Delaware, and that it is a relatively new division of BlackRock.
I have the interview on Friday, any tips, information, or background would be great.
Thanks
I start this postion in early August and wanted to know if anyone had any insight.
Not really something that gives you a solid skillset.
even for PAG, almost 1/3 of first year analysts have quit...
Does that apply to RQA too? It was the only PMG position I see them recruiting for at the analyst level. Just wondering because I want to know how exactly one ends up in BlackRock's PMG?
I tried linkedin but I still can't figure how to get hired into that group.
One guy went Quant Analyst -> GSAM -> BLK PMG
Since S&T is completely different from Asset Mgmt. That cannot be the route I presume.
PMG mostly hires experienced candidates from reputable sellside/buyside shops.
PAG is no longer a feeder into PMG, as PAG is mostly operational stuff with little finance involved: mostly fixing codes so the messed up softwares can run risk reports for clients.
Not sure about RQA, but from what i heard, it is similar to PAG...
The only groups really worth pursuing these days are PMG and FMG (financial modeling group: but you gotta be into quantitative modeling and coding)
If RQA is like PAG then how did this guy pull it off:
Portfolio Manager, Multi-Asset Active Allocation team BlackRock Public Company; BLK; Financial Services industry March 2010 – Present (5 months)
Risk and Quantitative Analyst, Multi Asset Products BlackRock Public Company; BLK; Financial Services industry October 2007 – March 2010 (2 years 6 months)
Quantitative Researcher (intern) Brevan Howard Asset Management Privately Held; Investment Management industry June 2007 – August 2007 (3 months) Development of quantitative trading strategies (US equities).
Could you find out more about RQA? I'm rather curious about the group.
go pm that guy on linkedin and ask him about it. best way to find out.
Haha...I will.
Hi, I also got the on-site interview...although 2 years after your original post... Did you finally got this one? Or you find other opportunities?
