AM associate Vs MBA
I've been in the sell-side for 3 years at one of the top teams, based in London (1 year at a big 4 prior). I networked my way into an interview with an AM firm for associate position ($300bn AUM). Also I received admission from 2 top MBAs that do exceptionally well in hiring for AM, and graduates go for analyst positions. CPA, CFA, CAIA all done
One thing I have to factor in my decision is that I need to undergo a discectomy. My arms have been killing me for years and I just can't wait any longer. I've been told recovery might be prolonged, so a break from work might help with that.
Should I waste 2 years of my life doing absolutely nothing of value or take the associate job?
I think the way you ask the question pretty much gives you your answer - Associate job > paying for tuition 2yr for something you don’t seem passionate about
